Operations & Events Intern

Work week: Sun-Thurs, evening hours are regularly required
The Vintage Ministry Internship (VMI) is a unique program for anyone age 21-29 looking to serve the local church in the thriving, urban city of Los Angeles. The interns will receive exposure to various ministries by supporting the events and operational functions of Vintage Church, as the trellis from which all ministry fruit can grow. The interns will support all major events at the church including Sunday Services, Alpha and School of Discipleship as a part of the guest services and hospitality teams. The purpose is to develop the interns into well-rounded people who: 1.) thrive within the demands of local church ministry, 2.) have a working knowledge of various ministry events and programs through hands-on event training and experience, and 3.) demonstrate the attitude and skills necessary for ministry effectiveness.
The VMI program includes a weekly curriculum and class time intended to aid in spiritual growth. This curriculum is meant to come alongside each intern’s personal pursuit of a foundation of spiritual and emotional health that supports their internship responsibilities.
As a Vintage Ministry Intern, your role is to support the operations team in all its functions. You will be assigned tasks and responsibilities that may change throughout the term.
Key Responsibilities
Participate on the Sunday team as directed by the Sunday Lead at all Sunday events (including Sunday Services, New to Vintage, Meet & Eat, and Kingdom Come)
Act as day of event support in both setup and tear down of events happening at each Vintage Church location, Santa Monica and South Bay
Assist at any assigned ministry events; this may include serving on the hospitality team, with guest relations or other jobs as assigned
Proactively participate in the general operations and upkeep of church facilities
Responsibly assist in management of systems and software (Planning Center Online, Google Drive, etc), as assigned
Participate in all aspects of VMI curriculum - including assignments to be completed outside of office hours
Serve the overall mission of Vintage Church - Los Angeles, which may include tasks and responsibilities assigned by your manager and not fully outlined here
Requirements
A committed follower of Jesus with an active, maturing faith
Knowledge of the basics of the Christian faith
Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive, life-giving attitude
Self starter, willing to jump in and help with tasks as needed
Ability to maintain spiritual health and emotional maturity while fulfilling all key responsibilities
Necessary Skills & Experience
Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks at the same time
Display professionalism in written and verbal communication
Ability to maturely and appropriately handle confidential information
Strong spiritual and emotional intelligence
Proficient in Apple OS and Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, & Drive)
Proficient administrative skills such as scheduling, organizing, and coordinating
Ability to meet the physical requirements stated below.
Physical requirements

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, bending, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling of materials.
Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
Ability to lift/carry, up to approximately 30 pounds frequently, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds may be required
Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more)
Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Auditory capability to hear well, meaning the ability to discern speech and other sounds.
Additional requirements
The schedule will include weekend and evening hours. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all staff are required to work certain church functions such as Alpha Launch Nights and the FOCUS Retreat, and the religious holidays of Good Friday, Easter Sunday and the Saturday in between, and Christmas Eve. These special events may include additional hours for setup and teardown.
