Communities Curriculum
Weekly Structure
Gather + Eat (30mins)
Eating together is the secret sauce to creating deep and fun community. So grab a bite to eat - it doesn’t have to be fancy - order pizza, chips and guac, or a potluck dinner are all great options. If a meal is too much then go simple. Put the kettle on and have tea and dark chocolate.
Content (60 mins)
This is our time to dig in deep to what God wants to teach us, and to grow together into the likeness of Jesus. This time together will be beautiful if everyone leans in, commits to being safe listeners, and refuses to be anything other than vulnerable in our heart posture before God. It is in this place we must humbly come before God and say, “Lord I want to meet with you, I want you to change me, and I want you to do it alongside and in the midst of this community of brothers and sisters”.
Pray (5 mins)
We begin with prayer. Invite the Holy Spirit.
Learn (20 mins)
We then turn to this week’s content - either watching the videos or reading the content.
As a big group we intellectually interact with each other and the sermon/podcast we listened to the previous week. Wrestle with the topic, ask questions.
Discuss (10 mins)
We then split into triads (groups of 3 that stay consistent week to week) to share openly about how the content impacts us, and what God is doing in our hearts and lives.
Share (20 mins)
We then close by praying in those triads. Interceding for each other, contending, encouraging, and comforting each other in prayer.
Pray (5 mins)
Practice (time varies)
During the course of the week, between your time meeting together, there are things we can lean into so that we may continue to grow in our day to day life. This will always include a sermon or podcast to listen to, and will often include some kind of life practice such as prayer, mission work in our city, reading scripture, journaling, talking and praying with a friend etc.
