VKids Coordinator - South Bay Location

Employment Status: Part-time, 8 hours on Sundays; 8 hours midweek (FLSA Non-Exempt, hourly)
Position classification: Paid Support Role (A non-staff W-2 Employee who is hired for a particular role, often on Sundays only, and sometimes for a predefined amount of time, for instance when seasonal demand requires additional help. This person is an employee for legal and tax purposes, but is not considered a member of Vintage Church Staff.)

Primary Purpose of Position

The VKids Coordinator, South Bay Location will be responsible for all VKids (babies - 5th grade) needs for Sunday services at the Vintage South Bay location. The VKids Coordinator is responsible for the South Bay VKids Volunteer Team management, recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling, setup and teardown of VKids spaces, and content and curriculum for VKids Sunday service(s), as well as pastoral meetings with parents and volunteers as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ably lead the Vkids volunteer team with humility and professionalism, to ensure the well-being and discipleship of Vkids in the South Bay.

  • Lead setup and teardown of Vkids spaces in a consistent, efficient, organized and unhurried manner.

  • Ensure the safeguarding of Vkids spaces.

  • Weekly scheduling of volunteers and replacing any volunteers who call out.

  • Prep all Vkids Content and Curriculum from Vintage Central Vkids resources.

  • Properly execute onboarding of new volunteers; initial interview followed by background check, screening form, LiveScan fingerprinting, and MinistrySafe training.

  • Pastoral meetings with parents and volunteers

Necessary Skills / Experience:

  • Experience with kids ministry and a heart for next generation discipleship

  • Experience leading volunteer teams

  • Attention to detail and high standards of excellence

  • Understanding of safeguarding rules and regulations

  • Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks at the same time

  • Proficient in Planning Center and Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, & Drive)

  • Experience working as a volunteer or staff in a mid-to-large size church is a plus

  • Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Additional Requirements

Vintage Church occasionally runs midweek events that require VKids programming. The candidate for this job must be able to occasionally work additional days or evenings for special events when needed and could include the holidays of Easter weekend and Christmas Eve.

Pay Range

Pay range:  $25 - $35 / hour
