Production Coordinator - South Bay Location

Location: South Bay
Employment Status: Part-time, 8-12 hrs/week (FLSA Non-Exempt, hourly)
Work Week: Sundays; other days as scheduled
Position classification: Paid Support Role (A non-staff W-2 Employee who is hired for a particular role, often on Sundays only, and sometimes for a predefined amount of time, for instance when seasonal demand requires additional help. This person is an employee for legal and tax purposes, but is not considered a member of Vintage Church Staff.)

The Production Coordinator, South Bay Location will be responsible for all production needs for Sunday services at the Vintage South Bay location and other events (as needed and scheduled). The Production Coordinator is responsible for setup, teardown, and running all audio and video during the worship services to create an excellent and distraction-free experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ably lead the volunteer team with humility and professionalism, to ensure the timely and safe setup and teardown of all production equipment

  • Ensure that all production equipment is securely stored after the conclusion of the services

  • Lead setup and teardown in a consistent, efficient, organized and unhurried manner, providing a positive experience for volunteers and ensuring that worship rehearsal can begin on time.

  • Run Pro-Presenter during two Sunday services.

  • Mix audio for worship and any other on-stage elements.

  • Problem solve and find creative and workable solutions in the moment when technology fails.

  • Anticipate tech problems before they happen

  • Frequently evaluate the production equipment to proactively prevent tech failures

  • Ensure the sermon is recorded in duplicate and the file sent to the central production team by end of day each Sunday.

  • Schedule a monthly check-in with the Technical Director at Vintage Santa Monica to ensure everything is running at a high standard

Necessary Skills / Experience:

  •  Knowledge of audio/video equipment and experience running church services or events for 200+ people

  • Proficient in ProPresenter, Pro Tools, and Audio Mixing for live events

  • Above average technical knowledge base with the ability to effectively troubleshoot

  • Attention to detail and high standards of excellence for production

  • Understanding of the musical dynamics of live worship settings

  • Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks at the same time

  • Proficient in Apple OS and Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, & Drive) 

  • Experience working as a volunteer or staff in a mid-to-large size church is a plus

  • Ability to lift/carry, up to approximately 30 pounds frequently, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds may be required

  • Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more)

  • Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Auditory capability to hear very well, meaning the ability to discern differences and qualities of audio frequencies, and the ability to comprehend the complete dynamic range of spoken and musical sound.

Additional Requirements

Vintage Church occasionally runs midweek events that require production support. The candidate for this job must be able to occasionally work additional evenings for monthly worship nights or special events when needed and scheduled, and could include the holidays of Easter weekend and Christmas eve.

Pay Range

Pay range:  $25 - $35 / hour
