Marketing Coordinator

Line Manager: Director of Engagement
Location: Santa Monica
Payroll Status: 40 hours/week
Work week: Sunday-Thursday
Pay Range: 50k - 55k annually

Primary Purpose of the Position

The Marketing Coordinator will provide administrative, project management and execution support for designated Media & Communication workstreams. They will be a core team player, helping to keep day-to-day marketing and communications on track, liaising with project stakeholders and updating information on our communication channels.

They will have a good understanding of how marketing and communication can be used to create a great user experience, as well as how to collaborate well and manage project timelines.

The successful candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, demonstrate a high level of consistency, and have the capacity to adapt when flexibility is needed. They will enjoy helping the team to get projects going and take them across the finish line. With a strong desire to use their skills and talents for God’s Kingdom, the vision and mission of Vintage Church LA will be a primary motivator for their application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative and communication project coordination

  • Social media planning and scheduling

  • Administration of ministry events on Planning Center including automated and tailored event emails to leaders and guests

  • Content population / management for digital channels eg. website and social media

  • Keeping the master events and ministry marketing documents updated

  • Proof-reading communications (for grammar and fact checking)

  • Copywriting

  • Liaising with different ministries to gather project requirements, assets, and approvals

  • Gathering metrics / analytics on emails, socials, and websites to help the team gain insights

  • Any other tasks that will help Vintage to deliver clear and effective marketing and communications

Other
As a staff member of Vintage Church, the overarching purpose of your role is to serve the mission of the church. As such, you may be assigned tasks and responsibilities from time to time which are outside of the scope of this job description.

Necessary Skills & Experience

  • Relevant training, education or internship in a similar role

  • 1+ years’ experience in project management, marketing or administration

  • 1+ years’ professional experience of administering a social media account (eg for a business or organization)

  • Fully proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and equivalent Google software

  • 1+ years’ experience in reviewing analytics for social media / websites / Google

  • Proof-reading and attention to detail

  • Effective written communication skills

  • Good interpersonal communication skills

  • Able to prioritize competing demands


Desirable, but not required

  • Experience setting up ad campaigns and A/B testing ads for social media

  • Understanding and experience of SEO

  • Proficiency in Asana and Planning Center

  • Experience being a member of a mid-to-large size church is a plus

Additional Requirements

The work schedule may include other weekend and evening hours. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, additional tasks as assigned to serve the larger vision of the church. All staff are required to work certain church functions such as Alpha Launch Nights and the FOCUS Retreat, Good Friday, Easter Saturday & Sunday, and Christmas Eve. These special events may include additional hours for setup and teardown. Additional details are outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Pay Range

$50k to $55k annually
