Connection Coordinator

The Connection Coordinator at Vintage Church will be a dynamic and relational person, able to serve as the first point of contact for new visitors and those seeking to engage more deeply in our community. This role is crucial in facilitating a warm welcome and helping individuals find their place on our discipleship pathway.

The Connection Coordinator will be responsible for building relationships, providing information, and connecting people to relevant ministries and opportunities within Vintage Church.

Key Responsibilities

First Impressions & Welcome:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new visitors, both at the Connect Tent on Sunday and online, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience

  • Proactively engage with newcomers, answering questions and providing information about Vintage Church

  • Manage and maintain the "Connections" process, ensuring seamless follow-up with first-time guests

  • Recruit and train volunteers to serve on the Connection Team each Sunday


Discipleship Pathway Navigation:

  • Helping individuals find their place within the church's discipleship pathway, explaining available resources and opportunities

  • Connect people to small groups, volunteer teams, and other ministries based on their interests and needs

  • Maintain accurate records of visitor information and engagement

  • Facilitate Next Steps classes or meetings


Relationship Building & Follow-Up:

  • Build genuine relationships with new visitors and people within our congregation members, fostering a sense of belonging

  • Conduct regular follow-up communication (e.g., emails, phone calls, texts) to encourage continued engagement

  • Assist Pastors in identifying and addressing any barriers to involvement, providing support and resources as needed.


Team Collaboration & Support:

  • Collaborate with ministry leaders and volunteers to ensure effective connection and transition

  • Assist in organizing and executing church-wide events and initiatives

  • Provide administrative support related to the connection process, including data entry and reporting


Data Management:

  • Accurately record and manage visitor information within the church's database

  • Produce reports on visitor engagement and connection metrics

  • Utilize data to inform and improve the connection process

Requirements & Experience

  • A committed follower of Jesus with an active, maturing faith

  • A passion for seeing people grow in their faith

  • An understanding of Vintage Church's values and mission

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive, life-giving attitude

  • Experience in a church or ministry setting is preferred

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • A people person with a high level of empathy, and social and emotional intelligence

  • Proficiency in using Mac computer software and Google Workspace management systems

  • Ability to become proficient with Planning Center Online, Asana, Slack and other relevant websites/tools.

    OTHER:

    As a staff member of Vintage Church, the overarching purpose of your role is to serve the mission of the church. As such, you may be assigned tasks and responsibilities from time to time which are outside of the scope of this job description.

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, bending, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling of materials

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things

  • Ability to lift/carry, up to approximately 30 pounds frequently, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds may be required

  • Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more)

  • Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Auditory capability to hear well, meaning the ability to discern and comprehend spoken sound.

Additional Requirements

The work schedule may include other weekend and evening hours. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all staff are required to work certain church functions such as Alpha Launch Nights and the FOCUS Retreat, Good Friday, Easter Saturday & Sunday, and Christmas Eve. These special events may include additional hours for setup and teardown. Additional details are outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Pay Range

$50k to $55k annually
